Welcome to Bhoomi Flowers! We are two engineers with a deep passion for flowers and gardening. Initially, we sought gardening as a way to escape the pressures of our demanding jobs. Everything changed when we stumbled upon Erin Benzakein's Growing Floret series. Her incredible journey and the beauty she cultivated inspired us to turn our hobby into a market venture. Following our participation in the Floret workshop in 2024, we decided to take the plunge and Bhoomi Flowers was born!

First Year

Our first year was a steep learning curve as we transitioned from home gardening to cultivating flowers on a larger scale. Living in the second largest city in Illinois presented its own set of challenges; without access to personal land, we opted to rent two plots in the local Community Garden. Despite the valuable insights gained from the Floret workshop, we faced numerous challenges—growing flowers in a community garden without running water during a drought year was incredibly tough. Wildlife from the nearby wooded area and relentless weed pressure added to our struggles, leading to a near-total loss of our crops.

Second Year

As we embark on our second year in 2025, we're filled with renewed hope and wisdom from past experiences. We’ve planted over 400 tulips in the fall of 2024 and plan to plant 500 Ranunculus bulbs in early February. We're committed to turning our dream into reality and sharing the beauty of our flowers with our community.
